Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. Sometimes life’s going to hit you in the head with a brick. Don’t lose faith. I’m Convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You’ve got to find what you love And that is as true for work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large Part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you haven’t found it yet, keep looking and –don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll know when you find it. And like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking don’t settle. We have technology that our ancestors never had. We have awareness of global inequity, which we did not have. And with that awareness, we likely also have an informed conscience that will torment us if we abandon these people whose lives you could change with very little effort.

And I hope you will after 30 years from now and reflect on what you have done with your talent and your energy. I hope you will judge yourselves not on your professional accomplishments alone, but also on how well you have addressed the world’s deepest inequities… on how well you treated people a world away who have nothing in common with you but their humanity. I don’t know I’ll be one of them or not, but I’ll spend the remaining years with the exquisite, and prepare for the life henceforth.
